We welcomed Margaret Edwards and her team from Berkshire for our match at Sweetwoods Park on 31 May on a warm but overcast day. Some Berkshire ladies had driven for 100 miles to be with us!
Thanks go to the Greenkeepers as the course was looking at its best. Although the greens had been treated recently, they were slick, leading to some ladies despairing of ever making a putt. As the day went on the sun shone through, culminating in a lovely evening and most ladies enjoyed a drink on the terrace in the sunshine before their excellent meal. We were well looked after by the staff at Sweetwoods Park and our thanks go to them. The matches were friendly but competitive resulting in a win for SLC&SGA 4½ – 3½.
