President’s Day – 11th September 2017

Sep 14, 2017 | Archives

This year’s President’s Day was played on the Upper course at Worthing Golf Club, the home of the current President. The course was in beautiful condition and we were very fortunate to play in fine but windy weather despite the gloomy weather forecast. The rain held off until the last matches were finishing but the sun came out at the end.

There were 28 teams of three playing on the day which was the capacity number for the day. There was a three tee start and thanks go to Roy Shergold – the president’s husband and Lesley Mann for being very able starters, Lesley also acted as Marshal for the day.

Many thanks also go to Caroline Nicholls and Chaz Laurie lady members at Worthing Golf Club for manning the halfway house and June Garland for helping on the Registration desk.

The Worthing Lady Captain’s charity Friends of Worthing Hospital for Interventional Radiology Equipment raised £273, many thanks to our very generous players.

After a delicious buffet meal the prizes were presented and congratulations go to this year’s winners:-
