After a rocky start, following 4 people pulling out on the Sunday prior to the match, we ended up with 9 pairs, thanks to 2 reserves standing in last minute.
Playing in Haywards Heath GC Centenary year, the course was looking good, despite some rather slow greens. Plenty of banter and negotiations for the ladies to be given more shots took place, however to no avail! We were thoroughly trounced! Thanks go to Sylvia Huggair and Wendy Shergold, who were the only pair to secure a win.
This event is always well supported and played in really good spirit, despite our unforgettable loss! Thanks go to Joe Angella – SGC Captain and Martin Jones (Haywards Heath)Captain, for a great game and lesson in golf. They played so well. The catering team provided an excellent meal after the match and we look forward to attempting to ‘beat the guys’ in 2023.
