Every Year our President invites the Committee of The Sussex Golf Captains to a game as a thank you for entertaining us at our annual match at Haywards Heath.
It was the hottest day of the year when this year’s event took place at our President, Bron Morley’s home club, Pyecombe. Bron decided on a better ball competition off full handicap but because of the intense heat the competition was played over 15 holes.
The winners with 36 points were Joe Angella from Eastbourne Downs & Jenny Fahy from Willingdon.Second place with 35 points on count back were SGC Captain, Peter Ward from Brighton & Hove and our Captain, Nannette Meeten from Worthing.Third, also with 35 points were SGC Vice Captain, Phil Williamson from Haywards Heath and Ann Slade the SLC-SGA Vice Captain from Mid Sussex. After a cold buffet Bron awarded the prizes and SGC President, Neil Smith responded and gave her an engraved vase to commemorate the day.
