Thankfully the recent 34deg heat had reduced to a more manageable 21deg when we hosted the past lady captains from Kent at Cooden Beach Golf Club on 23 June. However, although the sun was shining, the wind is never far away from Cooden Beach and it was very strong on Friday, leaving the teams battered by the 18th hole.
The Greenkeepers had set up the course and greens in splendid condition and, in spite of the wind, everyone enjoyed the challenge. An enjoyable day culminated with an excellent meal.
Despite SLC&SGA fighting hard with two matches being decided on the 18th green, the Kent ladies prevailed, winning 5 matches to 3.
