Our Association recently played our only Home match of the season, against the Berkshire Past Captains, at Seaford Golf Club. With stunning views across the sea and the downland countryside Seaford is always a popular venue with players from Sussex and other counties.
The weather was very kind to us and the Course was in excellent condition. A total of 32 ladies played for the two teams, the format was Better Ball Matchplay. Even though Sussex had the home advantage we were unfortunately the losing side, though a number of the games went to the last couple of holes. The final score was 5 ½ to 2 ½ to Berkshire. After the game a Summer Buffet was enjoyed by all the ladies. The Berkshire Captain, Barbara Shanks, was very gracious in her speech. Most of her ladies had had a very long day travelling to the South Coast, coping with the summer traffic and road works. Hopefully all 32 players had had a lovely day!
Thank you to all the Sussex Ladies for playing.
