How many times did I look at the ‘Met Office’ app over the weekend?!!!!! Well, the weather didn’t disappoint, in fact probably the best sort for golf, not too hot, no rain and very little wind.
The course was playing really well and looked even better after the torrential rain we had on Saturday.
66 Ladies took part in the ‘President’s Rumble’. We introduced an additional prize of ‘Best Par 3 Scores’. 23 points was the most popular score and could have given us a headache working out who was going to receive that prize! However, true to form, one team came in with a magnificent 28 points! Well done the ladies from Cottesmore.
2nd and 3rd place was won on count back with a back nine score of 44 against 40 points. 1st, 4th and 5th places were easy to calculate without ties. Best back 9, with two teams on 42 points – sorry to the ladies of Pyecombe who just missed out by one point to Highwoods. Front 9 was a 5-way tie, won by Eastbourne Downs with 37 points on count back.
The clear winners on the day with an excellent 83 points were the ladies from Ashdown Forest – Carolyn Tanner, Izzy Marsh, and Carolyn Aitken. Well done on lifting the trophy!
