Brenda took up golf in 1994 and joined Sweetwoods when it opened - she’s now served 3 terms as Lady Captain! She was Competition Secretary for the County for six years and served as County Captain 2011-2013. Brenda loves the game (most of the time!) and enjoys putting something back into golf having had so much pleasure from it.
Responsibilities
Sets up and runs the President’s Day and President’s competition with Sussex Golf Captains. Supports hosting and plays in most events. Actively involved in Committee meetings and AGM.

Linda joined Crowborough Beacon Ladies Academy in 2000, not realising how compelling golf would become. She has played an active role in their ladies section both on the Committee and as Lady Captain in 2013. Then joining SLC&SGA Linda was honoured to be Captain in 2023.

Organises venues and dates for her fixtures the following year. Attends Committee meetings and AGM.
Kay Grindell

Kay took up golf after many years of playing tennis and squash and quickly became hooked. A member of Singing Hills for 15 years, she moved to the Dyke GC to join her husband in his Captain’s year. A member since 2012 she was Lady Captain in 2022. Kay served 7 years on the County with a focus on improving communications. She is currently a member of the Sussex Course Rating team.
Responsibilities
Chairs Committee meetings, sets agenda and signs off minutes. Facilitates the Committee. Sets up and manages matches with other counties and Sussex Golf Captains. Hosts and plays in most events.

Carol started having lessons in 2008 and quickly got the bug at Seaford GC! She has been on the ladies committee a number of times and was honoured to be Lady Captain in 2017. As a member of SLC&SGA she has served as the Admin Secretary 2019-23 which she really enjoyed since it has given her the opportunity to meet many fellow like-minded golfers!
Responsibilities
Organises venues and dates for her fixtures the following year. Supports hosting and playing in most events. Manages and sells SLC&SGA kit. Attends Committee meetings and AGM. Organises Committee Christmas lunch.
Theresa Williamson

Theresa first started playing golf at Paxhill Park, now called Lindfield, but moved on to join Haywards Heath in 2001. Soon after, she joined the ladies committee and was Div 3 Captain, Competition Secretary then Lady Captain in 2010. She has been on the committee of the club’s Charitable Trust since 2014 and also organises the Gardening group.
Responsibilities
Organises meetings and the AGM, takes minutes. Committee admin and record keeping. New members and membership renewals.
Jo Fife

Jo has been a member at Cowdray for six years and was their ladies section treasurer before becoming Lady Captain in 2020. During her Captaincy she raised £16k for the Alzheimer’s Society playing 9 rounds of foursomes with the Pro in just one day. They had the honour to play with Laura Davies and Trish Johnson making it an unforgettable experience. As an accountant, she’s ideally placed to take control of our finances.
Responsibilities
Manages day to day income and expenditure, reporting financial status at each meeting. Controls the bank accounts. Produces the Annual Report and Accounts for the AGM. Attends Committee meetings and AGM.

Linda has played golf for many years, and was Lady Captain at Addington Court in 1997. Moving to Dukes Dene, a new course nearby, she helped establish the ladies section and was their handicap secretary. After moving to Horsham she joined Cottesmore and played there for 20 years serving on the committee, as handicap secretary then Lady Captain in 2020. Nowadays she enjoys her golf at the Dyke GC.
Responsibilities
Manages the web site content and development. Manages the Mailchimp email system and SLC&SGA Facebook page. Oversight of member communications. Attends Committee meetings and AGM.
Caroline Angella

After retiring from hockey, Caroline needed to find something else to hit – so inevitably that led to her finding golf! As her family were long standing members of Eastbourne Downs, she joined there and served as Lady Captain in 2020, before joining SLC&SGA as Comp Sec.
Responsibilities
Plans fixtures, dates and venues for meetings. Liaises with clubs to set up and manage events. Organises key meetings, managing applications, catering and prizes, supports the President with her event. Attends Committee meetings and AGM.
