On Thursday 4th June we welcomed Hampshire Lady Captains to Ham Manor for our first match of the season.
Ham Manor is a wonderful parkland course set in West Sussex which is steeped in history with records of the site dating back to the 11th century. The weather for the day was not in our favour with rain and strong winds forecast, but my prayers were answered when we set off in beautiful sunshine to play this lovely challenging tree lined course with its wide fairways.
The match was played in a great friendly spirit with most of the matches being close. Sadly, we lost the match 6-3 but it was a valiant effort in those strong winds. Ham Manor did us proud and provided the ladies with a lovely meal afterwards. So thank you to Wendy and all her staff for looking after us on the day.
